Guests of Honor

AOD 2012 Guests of Honor

No AOD is complete without its esteemed list of Guests. In the coming months we will be announcing our official AOD 2012 Guests of Honor. Check back often for Guest updates and announcements!

Neil Kaplan

Neil has been a voice over actor for almost 25 years in animation, dubbing, audio books, live performance, video games and other fields. His most recent video game work includes Skadge and a dozen other characters on the Guinness World Record setting "Star Wars: The Old Republic". His portrayal of Tychus Findlay on Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty has stunned fans and won him acclaim across the video game universe. However, Neil may be best known around the globe as the voice of Optimus Prime on the animated television series Transformers: Robots in Disguise. His voice work has also been prominently featured in such series as Digimon, Bleach, Marvel's Iron Man Anime as well as an important upcoming role Naruto, as well as numerous other projects in various forms of media.

During his varied career, Neil has been a theatrical and voice over director as well as a voice over teacher and coach.

He is also the Founder and President of Audio Theater For Our Troops, a non-profit foundation whose mission is to provide respite and audio entertainment to current and former members of the U.S. military and allies via free audio theatrical productions featuring Hollywood's and Broadway's finest performers and writers.

Ian McConville

Ohio native, Ian McConville's creative medium of choice has always been pixels. After graduating with a degree in computer art, from Bowling Green State University, he set out to fill the world with polygon-goodness. With years of webcomics and video game mods under his belt, he quickly joined a San Francisco local company, Three Rings Design Inc, at which he currently acts as art lead on the SEGA published and award winning MMO "Spiral Knights." Other creative credits include online comics "MacHall.com" and "ThreePanelSoul.com." Follow Ian on twitter @polygoncherub.

Ken Pontac

Ken Pontac has been a Guest of Honor at AOD for so many years that he's lost count (indicating that he can't count beyond the number seven, for which he blames our schools). In 2010 Pontac, who has worked on the extremely violent "Happy Tree Friends" series for more years than he can count (damn you, schools!), has attempted to balance his karma by writing episodes of the charmingly pro-social "Arthur" animated cartoon. He is also still enjoying royalty checks for writing the "LazyTown" song "You Are A Pirate," which has become an Internet meme, enjoying millions of hits on YouTube and inspiring multiple mash-ups and karaoke videos. Oh, and that "Sonic Colors" game he just worked on is getting the best ratings of any Sonic game for the past 15 years. Pontac lives in Sausalito with a beautiful redheaded nurse and his crazy canines, Whistle the Wonder Dog and Little Mickey Blue Eyes.

Stephanie Sheh

Stephanie grew up in the bay area and is happy to be returning for "Animation on Display." This will be her first appearance at "Animation on Display." Stephanie is best known for her voices in popular anime shows such as Hinata in "Naruto," Orihime in "Bleach," Eureka in "Eureka 7," Mamimi in "FLCL." Most recently, Stephanie voiced Yui in "K-on!" Audrey in "Gundam Unicorn," and Armor in G4's "X-men." Stephanie has also lent her voice to many videogames such as "Bioshock 2," The Secret World," "Devil May Cry 5," and the upcoming "Spiderman" as Whitney Chang. She is the current voice of Rebecca Chambers for the "Resident Evil" franchise and has voice directed several games in the series, including "Resident Evil 5," "Darkside Chronicles," and "Revelations." In the last few years, Stephanie has been able to fulfill her dream of doing more original animation, landing parts in "Scooby Doo," "Zhu Zhu Pets," "The Secret Millionarie's Club," and others that are due out later this year. Stephanie is also one of the founding members of We Heart Japan a volunteer group dedicated to raising money to help those affected by the Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan. To keep up with all of Stephanie's projects join her facebook page and follow her on twitter.

Jayson Thiessen

Growing up in a small town in British Columbia, Canada, Jayson has been a cartoon enthusiast ever since he first saw the Looney Tunes as a young child on Saturday mornings. He graduated from the classical animation program at Vancouver Film School in 1997 and jumped right into the local animation industry. Starting as a classical animator, he worked his way up the ranks, making his directing debut for two seasons of the international hit show, "Pucca" and worked with the Schulz family directing a series of "Peanuts" shorts. In his spare time, he and his wife sell their own plush toy creations online at Etsy and BigCartel. He currently has the pleasure of being the supervising director of the growing sensation, "My Little Pony: Friendship is magic". Follow Jayson on twitter @goldenrusset.

Cristina Vee

Cristina Vee is a Los Angeles based voice over actress and director.

Cristina is also known for her popular renditions of anime songs on YouTube and got her first "big break" at an anime convention.
