Video Gaming Room Guidelines

GENERAL GUIDELINES
  • The operating hours of the Video Gaming room are 10AM - 12AM on Saturday and 10AM - 5PM on Sunday.
  • Please treat the staff, volunteers, other attendees, the hotel's property, and equipment with respect.
  • All attendees must have a valid badge visible at all times while in the Video Gaming room.
  • Please refrain from changing settings on any of the consoles, or turning them on/off. Please notify staff if there is a problem with a console.
  • On the Playstation 3 and XBOX 360 systems, please use the profiles marked "AOD" and/or "AOD 2010." Please refrain from using any other profiles stored on the consoles.
  • Please refrain from using your own storage devices (Memory cards/Memory Sticks/USB drives/Memory Units, etc.) on the consoles to upload/download any media files or save/load game save files.
  • DO NOT enter the Staffing Area under any circumstances!
  • No food or drinks allowed near the consoles. There will be tables set up in the center of the room for people to sit and relax and enjoy their food. Please clean up after yourselves.
  • Please use clean language as AOD is a Family-oriented convention and younger attendees will be present.
  • Physical harassment (i.e. fighting, wrestling, surprise glomping) will not be tolerated!
  • Versus-based games (Shooting and fighting games): Winner may stay for next match; loser(s) must relinquish their spot(s).
  • Music Games: For BEMANI games (DDR, Beatmania IIDX, ParaParaParadise) etc, there will be sign-up sheets provided. The limit is 3 songs (plus any bonus stages unlocked) per person. For Rock Band, sign-up sheets will also be provided. There is a limit of one song per group of four.
  • If there are people waiting to use a console, please limit your playing time to 15 minutes.
  • Personal Equipment: If you plan to use your own equipment such as arcade fighting sticks, please let us know immediately so that we can record your information. We are not responsible for personal equipment that is broken during use in the Gaming Room. When you are done using your personal equipment in the Gaming Room, please let us know, so we can verify that it has left in your possession.
  • The Video Gaming Room has a limited capacity. As a result, we sometimes may need to ask some of the attendees to leave the room, or prevent attendees from entering the room until more space is available. We apologize if this becomes an issue, but we are trying to provide a safe and comfortable room for everyone.
  • When the Gaming Room is closed, everyone will be asked to leave. There will be closing announcements every 15 min starting on the hour before the room closes (11PM Saturday, 4PM Sunday.) At closing time, all consoles will be shut off, even in the middle of gameplay.
EQUIPMENT CHECK-OUT
  • To prevent theft of our equipment, the Video Gaming Room has implemented a check-out system. To check out all game discs/cartridges and controllers, we require that you leave a valid form of ID (Driver's Liscense/School ID/Passport etc.) at the Staffing Area. Your ID will be returned to you when you check in the equipment.
  • Please form one line near the Staffing Area when checking out equipment.
  • You may check out one (1) game disc/cartridge and/or one (1) controller with your ID. If you are checking out a Wii Remote, you may also check out extra attachments needed (Wii Nunchuk, Wii Zapper, Wii Motion Plus, Wii Classic Controller, etc.)
  • When you are done playing, please return the equipment to the Staffing Area. If you wish to transfer equipment/games to another person, please return the equipment first so that we may properly check it back in and return your ID to you.
  • You are fully responsible for any equipment/games checked out under your name. If the equipment becomes broken or missing while checked out under your name, you will be responsible for the cost of replacement. Our staffers have generously loaned their personal gaming equipment to the Video Gaming Room so we ask that you treat it with respect.
